Thomas P. Farley (a.k.a. “Mister Etiquette”) is a radio and television personality, journalist, and manners expert. Farley is the editor of the anthology Modern Manners: The Thinking Person’s Guide to Social Graces [1], which contains pieces by Peggy Noonan, Frank McCourt, and Jamie Lee Curtis and provides a guide to mannerly living. He was the editor of T&C’s “On the Town” and “Social Graces” sections during his tenure as an editor in the features department (2000-2008). He initially became recognised to national and New York television audiences as an authority on modern etiquette during this time, appearing on CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, and in publications such as The New York Times and New York magazine. He is the founder of What Manners Most, a website dedicated to modern manners. In the Fall of 2012, Farley started a nationwide campaign dubbed Thanksgiving Unplugged with fellow etiquette expert Diane Gottsman of the Protocol School of Texas, with the aim of getting Americans to unplug from their digital gadgets over Thanksgiving meal and concentrate instead on family. Farley began writing a manners column for the New York Post [2] in October 2012, and in April 2013, she began writing a piece for “Manhattan” magazine.
